Mandy Herrick, Director

Mandy is a professional dance artist, a Somatic Movement Educator, and a Global Somatics® Practitioner with a B.A. in Theatre/Dance from Luther College. She believes movement and dance are pathways to re-wilding the mind and body and a form of social resilience in today’s world.  Dancing since she was 4 years old, Mandy danced with Hopkins School of Dance in Hopkins, MN and the Wisconsin North Youth Ballet in Eau Claire, WI. Inspired by the approaches of Suzanne River of Global Somatics®, Bonnie Bainbridge Cohen of Body-Mind Centering ®, Anne Green Gilbert of Creative Dance for All Ages, and the dance form Contact Improvisation,  Mandy brings over 4 decades of dancing, performing and embodiment to her teaching. Her work with Young Dance, a youth based dance company and school based in Minneapolis, MN inspired her to develop an imaginative, process-based dance program for all people who love to move and create.

In addition to teaching and directing Bodies of Water, Mandy creates site-responsive improvised performances with WEdances Movement Collaborative based in Viroqua, WI and creates her own solo work. She lives with her family in Viroqua with a garden, a dog, and a guinea pig. For more information and CV, visit mandyherrick.com
